Freedom From Legalism

Do you find yourself wondering if you have done enough for God?

Are you looking for a to-do list to accomplish for God in order to be acceptable to Him?

When you struggle with sin do you think you would be able to overcome if you would just try harder?

Do you have a hard time fighting off guilt and condemnation after you sin?

Are you afraid that God will be mad at you if you don’t read the Bible, pray or serve?

Would you feel safer if someone just gave you a list of rules and said, “Follow these and you will be ok” as opposed to your being led by the Spirit?

For many years my own answer to these questions was a resounding YES.

What was I missing? GRACE

My hope did not rest in simply receiving God’s unmerited favor (grace), but in my being able to do all the right things to earn it.

But thank God that He changes people’s hearts!

I remember one specific day on my grace journey when He had me read Galatians chapter 3 and as I did, the legalistic blinders that had clouded my vision for so long began to fall off!

I hope you are able to take the time to watch this 9 minute video devotional. I believe it will really encourage you. Think of it as a mini Bible Study!

This video was recorded several years ago when I went to Canada for a couple of TV interviews in conjunction with my new book. I’m thankful to Pastor Leon Fontaine for asking me to record this devotional while I was there and allowing me to post it on my website.

I also talk about this life changing day (when I read Galatians 3) in greater detail in my book in chapter 2 titled “When We Come To The End Of Ourselves.”

If you have not yet made Jesus your Savior and received the wonderful joy that His finished work on the cross has provided for you to live in, please visit my page here titled Jesus In The Driver’s Seat. On this page I explain the good news of the gospel and you will have the opportunity to pray a prayer of salvation, making Jesus your Savior! Jesus loves you and His arms are wide open!
