Oh, how I love my family! On our recent vacation we went to Disney World and then on a Disney Cruise. We found out they have a formal night on the ship and we McCollom’s are casual people. Seriously, the last time I wore a dress was at a wedding 7 years ago.

All four of us thought long and hard as to if we wanted to purchase, rent and go through the effort to plan for the necessary attire for this formal dinner, but now we are so glad we did. Thankfully, our girls were more than willing to wear their homecoming dance dresses again so that was a big help.

I haven’t seen Steve McCollom in a tux since our wedding day almost 27 year ago and wow, did he look handsome!

Steve is the funniest person I know and after getting his tux on he was sitting their waiting for the rest of us girls to finish getting ready and he looked like he couldn’t move. He said, “Wow, this is so comfortable” Hahahaha! But, as always, he was a great sport and endured the tux for the next 4-5 hours as we went to dinner and took, probably 100 pictures! Let’s just say, by the end of the night we were all ready to go back to our casual clothes.

I’m going to share some of our vacation photos with you below (both dressy and casual) and at the bottom I will leave a link to our 2018 ministry schedule which is now completed as well as the link to another blog post I wrote 4 years ago titled What’s Rest Got To Do With It?

First, a few pics from the Disney World part of our vacation:

This roller coaster goes from 0-57 miles mph in 2.8 seconds. I look like I’m in major pain, but a couple of seconds after we took off, once I caught my breath, I was screaming, “This is awesome!!!”

Another pic from Hollywood Studios

Magic Kingdom

Now, these are from the cruise. Ha! Steve trying to look mean on Pirate night!

I was so into getting these family pics on the different nights before dinner that our family had an hour long meeting one night in our rooms planning out our outfits (what would look good together) for each night. My family knew how excited I was to capture these memories and they lovingly went along with the plan!

You should have seen me standing back and smiling from ear to ear every time they were taking a picture of my girls!

And our day at Castaway Cay!

As you can see, we had a wonderful time on our family vacation, but I must’ve said five different times during the trip, “I’m so glad I didn’t come on this vacation to find happiness.” I said that because I don’t need a vacation to be happy. Just as I have said in many of my other blog posts, my joy is found in the fact that I am a child of God.

I do love taking vacations with my family and I always will, but I love my whole life; therefore, my level of joy did not change when the vacation was over.

I feel so, so sad for those who either are not believers in Jesus or they are but they have no idea what has been provided for them through Jesus’ finished work. That’s why we, the McCollom Family, want to spend the rest of our lives sharing the good news about Jesus with the world!

What’s Rest Got To Do With It?

If you have not yet made Jesus your Savior and received the wonderful joy that His finished work on the cross has provided for you to live in, please visit my page here titled Jesus In The Driver’s Seat. On this page I explain the good news of the gospel and you will have the opportunity to pray a prayer of salvation, making Jesus your Savior! Jesus loves you and His arms are wide open!
