“The Real You” series – Week 8: You Are Blessed!

What do you believe you have to do to qualify yourself for God’s blessings? Tithe? Give offerings? Give both tithes and offerings?

Mine and my husband’s lives have been pretty radically changed within this past year after learning the truth that we are blessed because of Jesus alone!

I had to personally come to terms with the fact that I had some wrong believing that was causing me to be fearful in the area of my finances.

Recently, five of my friends and I had a 75 minute conversation that must have really struck a nerve with people because we received a huge amount of comments/testimonies from others after watching this video.

This conversation is now one of my favorite things I have available for others to view because I have personally experienced the freedom that the truth in this area brings and I’m thrilled to pass this good news onto you!

Here are the questions we discussed:

– Why are you blessed?
– What do you have to do to qualify yourself for God’s blessing?
– Are you and I living under the old covenant or the new covenant?
– What about tithing? Is it under the old covenant or the new covenant?
– Should there be any fear attached to your giving?
– Will you be cursed if you don’t tithe?
– Will you be as blessed if you don’t tithe?
– Is being generous part of your identity?
– What does giving under the new covenant of God’s grace look like?

Here are some of the comments we have received

Here are some of the verses we used during our conversation

“I have given them the glory you gave Me so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and you love them as much as you love me” – John 17:22-23 NLT

1 John 4:16 & 18 says, God is Love. Love NEVER brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. (TPT)

Galatians 3:10-13

10 But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.” 11 So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” 12 This way of faith is very different from the way of law, which says, “It is through obeying the law that a person has life.” 13 But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”(NLT)

2 Corinthians 9:7-11:

7 “Let giving flow from your heart, not from a sense of religious duty. Let it spring up freely from the joy of giving—all because God loves hilarious generosity! TPT 8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. 9 As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and benevolence will go on and endure forever! 10 And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity]. AMP 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. (NIV)

Hebrews 8:13:

“When God speaks of a new [covenant or agreement], He makes the first one obsolete (out of use). And what is obsolete (out of use and annulled because of age) is ripe for disappearance and to be dispensed with altogether.” (AMP)
