From as far back as I could remember I was trapped in a life of legalism. I lived buried under rules and regulations and buried my family under them as well. Although I’d been a Christian since I was 8 years old, I placed myself under the law in an effort to please God.
At the base of my legalism were many misconceptions I had about God that resulted in my never feeling like I could measure up to His expectations. I turned almost everything into a rule and lived each day by a very long, unrealistic list that nobody could have kept. My life was filled with anxiety, frustration and stress.
In December of 2011 I finally came to the end of my rope as Paul said in Romans 7:24. I prayed a prayer of desperation that day. I said, “God, I can’t live like this anymore, I need serious help.”
About one week later on January 2nd, 2012, God stepped into my life in a powerful way. During my devotional time with Him that morning He swept over me with a wave of His unconditional love that changed me forever. I know now that I am God’s daughter and see Him for the loving heavenly Father that He is.
That day I started a journey of grace that has transformed my life, my marriage, my parenting, my friendships and my list! I am so thankful to God for the heart revelation of His grace and will never stop thanking Him for what He has done for me!
My husband Steve is an amazing man who truly lives out the love walk talked about in 1 Corinthians 13. He’s a great example because of the grace of God at work in His life. We’ve been married since 1991 and have twin girls who we are very thankful to God for. They keep us laughing!
I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, writing and CrossFit training.
About This Blog
The gospel of Jesus Christ is very good news and it’s not complicated, nor does it bury us in rules. It’s all about grace. We accept Jesus as our savior by grace and then Jesus, Who is grace, lives His life through us.
But we have a choice to make. We have to choose whether we are going to live our life by our own self-efforts or by placing all of our trust in Christ, every single day, every single moment.
This blog is about my personal journey of grace and how the gospel of grace that Paul preached intertwines into every part of our lives and changes us!
